Pre-Game Prep

If you want to be on top of your social media sharing-tweeting-posting game – you’ve got to put in the pre-game prep.

For me this includes:

  1. Downloading the latest and greatest apps. I just downloaded Layout, Repost (both for Instagram) and Nutshell. They have been on my to-get list for weeks. The goal for me is to have tools to help me tell the story and share my experience with the most high-quality photos and media, the least amount of words and the quickest amount of time.
  2. Developing my Twitter cheat sheet. This includes usernames of all of the representatives and senators we will meet with on Hill Visits. I save them in my phone, but having a handy cheat sheet will save you the time of looking them up on-the-spot and ensure you don’t tag a fake accounts.
  3. Downloading the official event app and plugging in my schedule. I may do this in the airport, but I will get it done before I get there. There are many places to be and people to see and the only way to get it all in (or even come close) is to have a plan of action that you can take with you on your mobile device. The app is great because it updates with any last minute changes.
  4. Charge! Most importantly, you’ve got to charge those devices, and charge the back-up chargers for your devices and be sure to pack them all.

What do you do to get prepared for the Legislative meetings?
