As the broker/owner of a virtual and paperless brokerage, I am often scouting out new companies who provide apps and platforms to further streamline our business and to connect with our clients and I often work closely with our current providers to further enhance their product offering to ensure the platform remains relevant for our and other colleagues business needs. This afternoon I had the time to trek around the #NARLegislative Trade Show floor in search of a few technological offerings. I happened to stumble upon a few new cool kids and rub elbows with a few old tech pals. Here are a five companies that I believe any real estate professional should connect with.
Agent Inbox is a showing scheduler on some wickedly cool steroids. The AI team has been developing the platform for nearly two years and just launched a few weeks ago. The showing scheduler functionality doesn’t even scratch on the communication voids it fills within the real estate industry. The platform further streamlines all transactional communication (call, text, and email) channels all into one application. If you’ve ever used the Slack app, you know how useful this platform is when you are conversing between a group or just one person about an idea or topic. August Smart Lock
August Smart Lock is another keyless front door entry lock solution in the marketplace. What I found interesting about this new solution is you do not have to fully replace the entire door hardware – just the locking mechanism inside your home. August is equipped with bluetooth technology to it interfaces with Apple and Android smartphones, however, it does have an additional add on feature with wireless capability allowing the owner to allow entry into the home regardless of their location. This is perfect for folks who want to give a service provider, a cleaning professional, or a friend temporary entry into their home. This means you could be sunbathing on a beach in Hawaii and open your front door for a friend.
BackAgent is one of the best transaction management platforms on the market today and a system I use daily within our own brokerage. It is has become a lifesaver in terms of overseeing a transaction, not missing important deadlines and adding an additional layer of compliance from a broker perspective. BackAgent’s simplistic interface takes the guesswork out of what contract documents are necessary for a file and even provides a customizable checklist for those agents new to the industry who aren’t sure what to do next. The best part of the platform is it allows us to be 100% paperless. This description of their platform doesn’t even scratch the surface on functionality, so I highly recommend scheduling a demo to see all the bells and whistles.
Loop & Tie
Loop & Tie is really cool Austin based company that has delivered a fun way to deliver closing gifts to clients, or even a Christmas or a birthday gift. You as the real estate professional establish a price point beginning from $50 and up to $250 and the receiver of your gift is delivered to a branded webpage displaying all the possible gift choices within that price range We all struggle with delivering a gift to a client that they will appreciate and actually use. This really slick system solves that problem, but also brands you as the realtor or your brokerage at the same time.
Notary Cam is a genius solution and I’m surprised that someone hasn’t run with this idea before now. Every real estate professional has encountered an out of state or out of the town client who needed to sign closing documents but couldn’t locate a notary, especially those out of the country clients. Finding a notary outside the country is often challenging and costly. Notary Cam confirms the identity of the client via several channels and delivers to the lender and or the title company notarized documents that are acceptable in order to finalize closing and funding.
