The candidates share the stage at the Thursday afternoon candidates’ forum.
The NAR office of First Vice President is the pathway to the office of NAR President. That is, the successful candidate for First Vice President will be the NAR President two years later. This year features a contested election with two well qualified candidates, both of whom have spent years of their lives and hundreds of thousands of dollars in pursuit of a position of servant leadership for the 1.2 million member National Association of REALTORS.
The big election occurs at the NAR Board of Directors meeting on Saturday morning. NAR’s approximately 800 directors are the only members who have a vote in this election. If you have a strong opinion, and you’re not a director, make sure you reach out to directors you know in the next day to make sure your opinion is heard.
Right now, the two candidates are participating in a forum, designed to give directors–as well as anyone else who wants to attend–the chance to see and hear these candidates respond extemporaneously to some challenging questions.
Whether you are solidly in the camp of one of these candidates, are undecided, or are simply agnostic, know that both of these folks have worked tirelessly for the opportunity to lead the charge on behalf of your industry, your Association, and private property rights
