Two Great Candidates for First Vice President

This morning at the board of directors meeting, John Smaby and Joanne Poole gave eloquent presentations for election to first vice president 2017 of the NAR. The first vice president goes on to become president.

In a vote reminiscent of the infamous hanging chad debacle, the drama was increased by faulty voting technology and confusion about people leaving the room. President Tom Salomone handled the situation with firm aplomb. And the vote was at last legally conducted, and John persevered, with a slim margin of victory.

Congratulations to both Joanne and to John. Over this past week I had the opportunity to speak with both of them. Unlike the US election, each was so positive, with great enthusiasm and dedication. And so gracious about each other’s candidacy. Total class! We are in very good hands with the going-forward leadership of NAR!
