I write this somewhere in the sky between Dubuque and Chicago. Before I boarded my flight this morning from Portland to DC, I called my mom to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day. The call took on added significance, as I reflected on my last flight for a NAR conference – last fall from Portland to Orlando. It was my dad’s birthday the next day. I planned to call him upon landing – only to learn he passed away while I was up in the air.
That week in Orlando, the notion of “chosen family” became especially powerful. I had such love and support from my REALTOR® family while I was there – staff, fellow volunteer leaders, and other colleagues. We are bound not only by a shared calling, but by deep friendships. So this time around, I’m super excited to see my peeps. I look forward to a productive, yet fun, week ahead!
