REALTORS® visit DC every spring, during the month of May. They assemble with legislators, fight for property rights, attend committee meetings, visit the expo and network with agents from all over the United States. In addition to Hill visits agents are able to tour Washington, DC.
Over the past few years, the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®, the Illinois association, hosted a monument tour. Our Government Affairs Director, Jeff Merrinette, shared historical background on the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial. Other stories quite scandalous. You had to be on the bus to hear those stories. Click here to get the story on the Washington, Hamilton, and Jefferson scandals.
Our GAD, AKA tour guide, Jeff is extremely entertaining, knowledgeable, and shared excessive insights into our history, not only the scandals. He made the tour interesting and engaging. History is an important part of who we are as a country.
Get involved, build stronger relationships, and discover more on why we fight for home ownership rights for everyone! Talk to your local, state, and national associations for more information. Go to REALTOR.org® today and join us next year.
