The short answer, hopefully, is everywhere! Good speakers, trainers, and instructors are gathering information for the class from other instructors, students in the class, national meetings like NAR Legislative, and the Expo vendors, among others. We are always learning to help agents create a better and more successful business in real estate.
I see lots of educators here at the national meetings learning from each other, and I love that environment. There are a couple of formal education sessions for trainers that happen at all the national meetings as well. On Monday, I attended the ABR® certification/recertification class offered by the REBAC staff. Experienced and new trainers come together to learn better ways to teach topics that come up that are challenging for everyone in the class. We all want to find better ways to serve our clients, and we discuss these in our class. We also get instructor training from excellent trainers on how to be more entertaining and better communicators of the information.
Terry Watson brought the educator training yesterday. You can see him in the photo. I always get something good from his classes, and on Wednesday, the RRC (Residential Real Estate Council) instructors, of which I am one, will be connecting to help us bring excellent education to those pursuing their CRS designation. We discuss best practices, new classes, and techniques for the classroom. Follow your favorite instructors on social media and see where they are learning and growing. I am fortunate to hang out with some amazing instructors at the national events. If you need some suggestions for great instructors in your area, ask any instructor you like, and they can tell you who they see living and learning as a lifestyle.
