Owning It!!!

It’s been an empowering week here in the District with my favorite REALTOR® family and friends!!! We’ve had personal visits with our elected officials on Capitol Hill, we’ve embraced the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, and we continue the fight to protect private property rights for all of our clients and colleagues across the country. The work that is done at the legislative meetings every year has some of the biggest impacts on the real estate industry. I am proud to get the opportunity to serve our members at the national level, shaping the landscape of how we do business in our local communities.

Our 2018 National Association of REALTORS® President Elizabeth Mendenhall says that we need to “Own It,” and her message has been heard loud and clear here in Washington this week. She and her team have definitely owned the criticism recently received regarding the rollout of the new logo, to the new budget proposal and dues increase by providing our voting delegates with many opportunities to gain knowledge to make the best decisions this week. This is exactly the type of transparency that our members expect and deserve from our leadership and I am honored to be on the front line of change for a better tomorrow.
