I always look forward to Midyear and the Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) meeting we have with Congressman Rob Wittman. The purpose of the meeting is to update our Congressman on REALTOR (R)/ Pro-Homeownership issues and bill coming up, and to update them on how things are going back in their District. The talking points this year are;
- Restructure Fannie Mae& Freddie Mac and Encourage the Return of Private Capital
- Preserve the Mission and Purpose of the FHA Program
- Preserve Homeownership Tax Policies
This was my 4th year being on the FPC team. I have learned to not be surprised when we start to talk to Congressman Wittman about our talking points and he ends up telling us more about the issues.
Our meetings only last 15-20 minutes but it always leaves me with a feeling, I have helped Homeownership, just a little bit.
After the Young Professional Network (YPN) Advisory Committee Meeting yesterday. I started talk to Dom about this app called, Homesnap. The app is amazing! You download the app onto your phone. If you are driving around and see a home you like, just take a picture of the home, and the app will tell you all about it. The even cooler part, as a REALTOR(R), you can make a page as an Agent. Then you can invite your clients so they can use the app. Everything is branded to you that way. Also, you can track what they are looking at with the app.
After I finished speaking to Dom, I had already downloaded the app, set up my profile and invited 2 clients. It seems really helpful and will cut down on endless emails with random addresses. I say, if you don’t already have it, download it now!
I will be leaving in 30 minutes to make my, hopefully, hour drive up to DC. In the next few days I hope to do learn as much as I can, from my fellow REALTORS(R), as well as, do my part to help. This will be my 5th Midyear. For the past 4 years, I have been a Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) for Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA). Not only do I get to meet with Congressman Wittman this year, I have the honor of serving on the Young Professionals Network (YPN) Advisory Board. Today I will be attending my first YPN Advisory Board Meeting and getting to meet the other board members from across the US.
If you do not hear from me again, I am stuck on 95.
